The Department of Hindi registered a fun-filled, enriching and exciting academic year.

Hindi Diwas
  • Hindi Sahitya Parishad celebrated "Hindi Diwas" on 15th September 2015, which began with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Laupooja, a talented student of the department presented a soulful dance recital of Saraswati Vandana to the tune of "Maa Saraswati Sharde..." Thereafter a detailed discussion was held regarding the writing competition of different genres on the topic "Aakhir Kyun..."
Educational and Literary Tour
  • The department conducted an educational and literary tour to Pratapgarh Farms, Haryana on 16th Feb 2016. The trip saw all the teachers of the department and the students embarking on a fun-filled learning experience together, at a platform where they could interact informally.
Annual Departmental Fest "Sahitya Tarang
  • The annual departmental fest "Sahitya Tarang" was organised by the Hindi Sahitya Parishad on 15th-16th March 2016. The two-day extravaganza began with a unique exhibition in the Evening Block corridor "Cinema Chitra Pradarshini". The entire corridor showcased images from iconic films and legendary actors of yesteryears, who made a mark in Indian Cinematic History. The exhibition was the main attraction of the fest and was highly appreciated by one and all.
  • Day one of the fest saw a host of events ranging from "Swarachit Kavita Paath", "Prashnottari", "Vigyaapan Lekhan" and "Vaad-Vivaad". The second day of the fest proceeded with a lively performance of a play written by Manoj Goswami titled "Recharge", adapted and presented by Hindi Honours students, to a thunderous applause by the audience. It was followed by a vibrant "Lok Nrittya Pratiyogita" where the participants showcased folk dances from the length and breadth of the country. Another unique folk dance form was represented in the competition titled "Naagin Nrittya Pratiyogita" which was greatly enjoyed by the audience. The concluding event of the fest was a colourful Fashion Show which showcased the literary, cultural and stylistic talents of the students of the department. The two day fest was a great success, and was well attended by the faculty and students across departments.
