Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College Library aims to create an environment that nurtures lifelong learning and supports the academic and intellectual growth of students and faculty.
About the Library
The College Library is a
Knowledge Centre with rich academic resources in
Commerce, Social Sciences, and Humanities. Established in
1973, it is a fully furnished,
air-conditioned facility with complete computerized operations. All books are bar-coded and accessible via
OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue).
The library houses:
- Textbooks & reference books
- Encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases
- Multivolume sets, Rachnavali & Granthavali
- Magazines, journals & newspapers
- Previous years’ question papers
- Syllabi & course-related material
The library provides access to e-resources via
DULS,
INFLIBNET N-List,
DELNET and several open-access platforms.
An orientation programme is conducted at the start of every academic session.

Membership
Membership is open to all bonafide students, teachers and non-teaching staff of the college. Library cards are non-transferable.
Library Timings
Monday to Friday: 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays.
During examinations, the library remains open on Saturdays as per notice.
Reservation of Books
Books in high demand may be reserved at the circulation counter.
New Arrival Display Service
Recently added books are displayed on the New Arrivals Rack.
Tips for Best Use of the Library
- Show your identity card at the check point and sign the visitor register.
- Keep bags at the Property Counter.
- Do not leave cash or valuables at the counter.
- Maintain silence inside the library.
- You can borrow up to 3 books for 15 days.
- Return books on time for others’ benefit.
- Handle books with care like true companions.
