About the Society
Founded in 2015, Malhar – The Music Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, University of Delhi, stands as a vibrant musical community. Inspired by Raag Malhar, the society represents refreshing melodies blended with artistic expression.
Malhar conducts events, workshops, and performances that encourage artistic and personal development, focusing on self-awareness, leadership, teamwork, and emotional expression through music.
Functioning and Activities
Malhar consists of classical vocalists, instrumentalists, beatboxers, rappers, western musicians, and music producers. The society explores classical, semi-classical, western, indie, and experimental genres.
Malhar represents the college in national and university fests including:
- IIT Kanpur – Antaragni
- IIT Bombay – Mood Indigo
- IIT Delhi – Rendezvous
- AIIMS – Pulse
- JNU Cultural Festivals
Regular performances include Indian Classical Choir, Solo Performances, A-Capella, and Battle of Bands.
