About the Society

Founded in 2012, Reflection is the official Photography and Filmmaking Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College. It serves as a platform for creative expression, bringing together students who share a passion for visual storytelling, photography, and cinema. The society’s purpose is to capture and convey stories that inspire, inform, and provoke thought both within and beyond the college community.

Over the years, Reflection has evolved into a dynamic space for artistic exploration, technical learning, and meaningful collaboration. Every frame holds a narrative, and every click sparks inspiration in the captivating realm of visual storytelling.

Functioning and Structure

Reflection operates as a student-led society under Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College. The society follows a well-organized structure that balances creative freedom with professional discipline.

Core Team Roles:

• President – Oversees all operations and ensures smooth coordination across departments.
• Vice President – Assists in managing activities and ensuring effective communication.
• Secretary – Handles administration, records, and coordination.
• Treasurer – Manages finances, budgeting, and expense tracking.
• Joint Secretary – Supports internal coordination and maintains communication.
• IT & Graphics Head – Designs posters, reels, and maintains digital identity.
• Content Head – Manages captions, event content, and social media coordination.
• Public Relations (PR) Head – Handles outreach, sponsorships, and collaborations.
• Filmmaking Head – Leads all short film projects and ensures creative quality.

Activities & Initiatives

• Photowalks: Reflection organizes exciting photowalks across Delhi’s cultural and historical sites such as Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, Chandni Chowk, Yamuna Ghat, Purana Qila, and Potter’s Village. Each walk provides hands-on learning in composition, light, and creative framing.


• Workshops: On 11th January 2025, an online workshop on the Fundamentals of Photography was conducted by Farzeen Rais, former President of Reflection. It covered key concepts like composition, lighting, and storytelling through photography.


• Collaborations & Major Events Covered: Reflection collaborates with various societies such as Marqsoc, Creador, IIC, NUKE, Areopagitica, Geography Department, and Student Union Fest “Divyotsav 25”. These partnerships promote inter-society teamwork and event documentation.


• PHOTONS – Annual Event: Reflection’s flagship event celebrates photography and filmmaking through competitions and exhibitions. Over 30 colleges participate in contests including online and offline photography and filmmaking challenges.


• Online Engagement: The society actively manages its social media platforms to promote student work and creative content through engaging reels and posts.

Achievements 2025–26

Reflection members have actively participated and won numerous photography, filmmaking, and videography competitions across universities:

• Oct 14, 2025 – 1st & 2nd Positions in DRC Reel Making Competition.
• Dec 27, 2025 – 1st Position in SGGSC Online Photography Competition.
• Feb 06, 2025 – 3rd Position in “SYMPHONY'25” by Janki Devi Memorial College.
• Feb 20, 2025 – 1st Position in “SHOT READY HAI?” Filmmaking Competition at JMC.
• Feb 24, 2025 – 3rd Position in “LENS EYE” Photography Competition.
• Feb 26, 2025 – 2nd Prize in Online Photostory by ARSD College.
• Mar 1–20, 2025 – Multiple 1st & 3rd Positions across SRCC, DTU, PGDAV, ARSD, Gargi & DDUC events.
• Apr 12–17, 2025 – Top positions in filmmaking at Sankalp Fest & SRCC.
