A Brief Introduction

Established in 2014, the Placement Cell of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College (SBSEC) has evolved into a dynamic and results-driven professional body dedicated to shaping the career trajectories of our students. Under the strategic guidance of Ms. Shilpy Arora (Convenor) and Dr. Ruchika Gupta (Co-Convenor), the Cell operates with a clear mission to bridge the gap between academia and the corporate world through structured opportunities, mentorship, and industry engagement.

In just a few years, the Cell has built a strong placement ecosystem, securing partnerships with industry leaders such as EY, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, PwC, RSM, and Urban Company, among others. With 650+ successful offers and a continuously expanding recruiter base, the Cell has positioned SBSEC as a trusted talent hub known for professionalism, skill, and industry readiness.

Our core focus lies in enabling students to identify and pursue their career objectives with clarity and confidence by equipping them with the right skills, exposure, and professional temperament to excel in competitive domains.

Functioning and Core Operations

The Placement Cell functions as a strategic interface between students and the corporate world, operating year-round to cultivate opportunities, enhance employability, and sustain long-term recruiter relations. Its multifaceted operations include:

• Final Placements & Internships: Facilitating structured and high-quality employment and internship drives through partnerships with reputed firms across industries.
• Industry Readiness & Soft Skill Development: Conducting focused CV vetting sessions, mock interviews, group discussions, and professional grooming workshops to align students with real-world corporate expectations.
• Career Counselling & Mentorship: Guiding students through one-on-one mentorship and structured orientation programs to help them define and achieve their professional goals.
• Annual Placement and Internship Fair: A flagship event of the Cell featuring 80+ prominent recruiters and 2,000+ registrations, establishing it among the most impactful DU-wide recruitment fairs.
• Verification and Support Desk: Extending post-placement assistance and verification support for alumni pursuing higher education or international career transitions.

The Cell’s functioning is defined by strategic precision, consistency, and measurable outcomes ensuring that every engagement adds tangible value to both students and recruiters.

Notable Achievements

• Built sustainable, long-term collaborations with Tier-A organizations including Deloitte USI, Grant Thornton, RSM, Urban Company, EY, PwC, and others reinforcing SBSEC’s credibility as a source of quality talent.
• Hosts the Annual Placement & Internship Fair, one of the largest across Delhi University, engaging 80+ companies and over 2,000 student participants, serving as a benchmark event in campus recruitment excellence.
• Proudly represented the college in the Zomato Packathon delegation, marking our position among the top-performing DU institutions in corporate engagement and innovation-oriented collaboration.
• Achieved a steady year-on-year growth in placement figures, with annual CTCs ranging from ?3 LPA to ?20 LPA, reflecting the Cell’s strong recruiter network and talent pipeline.
• Introduced corporate interaction sessions, and employability skill modules in association with T.I.M.E group to ensure continuous upskilling and holistic professional growth.
