The Department of Geography, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College is one of the best at the University level, growing steadily under the guidance of its faculty members. The radiance of any college comes from its respective departments, its faculties, and the achievements accomplished by the students. The Department of Geography staff and students undertake multiple activities and achieve recognition not only within the college but at the university level as well. As Geography is all about nature, climate and the earth, the department commemorates various environmental days like Earth Day and World Environment Day, organising seminars and exciting activities and competitions for the students. For disaster management project studies, the department organises a survey trip for the students of 6th semester every year, under the supervision of its esteemed faculty. The annual fest, Shristi is celebrated where students showcase their latent talent, providing a break from the monotonous routine of evaluation and academics. In its opening ceremony, the annual geography magazine, Ankur is also released. Recently, in July 2020, the Sustainable Development Centre was inaugurated under the aegis of the Geography Department, with a vision of sensitising the community at large about the need for achieving SDGs, incorporating and promoting sustainable development activities in every individual's lives.

For steady flow of events and keeping the department’s unity and functioning intact, a number of students are selected, who become members of the Geography Department Students' Association. These accountable members are responsible for smooth functioning of association related activities.
