The versatile faculty members of the department are actively engaged in academic pursuits with the objective of enriching the teaching and learning process. With their extensive teaching experience, faculty members offer exceptional knowledge and exposure to the students. To enable holistic development, the department constantly encourages the students to excel in all aspects of life in addition to academics. Taking a receptive approach to learning, faculty members believe in ‘Learning while Doing’ and walk hand in hand with students on the path to multifaceted growth. The Department caters to all the Economics related subjects of various courses like BA(Honours) Economics, BCom (Hons), BCom Programme, and BA Programme, among others.
The Department also conducts conferences, symposiums and workshops with the support of the Economics Society on a regular basis to ensure that informative and interactive sessions are held for students as well as faculty members. The Department also organised a field visit to the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship & Management (an autonomous institution under Ministry of Food Processing Industries, GOI) to familiarize students with entrepreneurship related opportunities.
The Department of Economics has formed The Economics Society, which is a students’ body. The members of the society seek the guidance of faculty members to organize various academic as well as extra-curricular events (inter-college as well as intra-college). The pride and joy of the department are the vivacious members of this society who put in their heart and soul to help take the college to greater heights.
