About the Society

CREADOR is the Fine Arts Society of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, established in 2015. The main aim of the society is to make art more than just a hobby. It welcomes students interested in painting, sketching, crafting, digital art, and other artistic forms that require creativity and perspective.

By making art more than just a hobby, students grow as thinkers, develop unique perspectives, and learn to perceive the world differently.

Vision: To inspire and nurture artistic expression within the campus and to cultivate creativity, self-expression, and aesthetic appreciation among students.

Functions of the Society

• Takes Responsibility of College Decor: CREADOR handles décor for almost all important college events such as Divyotsav (2023, 2024, 2025), Saptarang (2023, 2024), and occasions involving flower decorations, rangolis, and photobooths.
• Participation in Art Exhibitions: Represented SBSEC in various exhibitions across Delhi University, including:
  1. 3-day Exhibition at Faculty of Arts
  2. Exhibition at Sri Venkateswara College
  3. Exhibition at PGDAV College
• Annual Fest Collaboration: CREADOR collaborates with Saptarang for its annual fest, organizing competitions like Wall Mural Painting (Theme – Freedom Fighters), Face Painting, Best Out of Waste, Exhibition Competitions, and Poster Making. Participants from major DU colleges such as Hansraj, DRC, Gargi, Motilal Nehru, and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College actively participate.
• Workshops:
  • Sketching Workshop (2023–24) by Artist Payal Chakraborty — focused on line drawing, shading, and composition fundamentals.
  • Oil Painting Workshop (2024–25) by Artist Karishma Nain — emphasized blending, color harmony, and expressive techniques.
  Both sessions enriched artistic understanding and confidence among participants.
• Art Sessions: Conducted biweekly sessions covering sketching, Indian art forms, acrylic, and oil painting techniques to help students grow their creative and technical skills.
• Achievements & Collaborations (2024–25):
  1. Collaboration with IIT Delhi for volunteering at a painting event in a government school (Noida).
  2. Collaboration with Vishalakshi Foundation for an awareness rally.
  3. 1st Prize in Live Sketching – Shivaji College
  4. 3rd Prize in Painting – SRCC
  5. 3rd Prize in Painting – ARSD
  6. 2nd Prize in Live Sketching – Jesus and Mary College
• Outings and Art Visits: CREADOR frequently visits art galleries, museums, and heritage sites to enhance artistic inspiration and strengthen team bonds.

Vision for the Upcoming Year

• Creation of large-scale canvas paintings for exhibitions.
• More college representations and wins in art competitions and exhibitions.
• Collaboration with government and commercial bodies such as MCD for wall mural projects.
• Introduction of live sketching and painting sessions to explore lighting, color theory, and shadow techniques.
