Creador - The Fine Arts Society
CREADOR, the Fine Arts Society of SBSEC, is one the oldest running societies which makes its presence felt by organizing various events & activities round the year.
The name Creador, derived from Spanish, means “creator” — one who brings ideas to life through visual expression. For its members, art is a journey of self-discovery — echoing Anni Albers’ belief that “Art is something that makes you breathe with a different kind of happiness.”
WHAT THE SOCIETY DOES?
Every year the society actively participates in events such as Divyotsav, Saptarang etc. and decorates the campus, sets up engaging and exciting Art Exhibition Stalls and Competitions. The society also contributes to event aesthetics by decorating venues and stages for various occasions such as Shaheed Singh Memorial, Freshers’ Day, Orientation Day, and many more.
It regularly organizes art workshops and sessions. For instance: an oil painting workshop was held in which renowned artist Karishma Nain was invited. There was also a sketching session in which distinguished artist Payal Chakroborty was invited.
To foster creativity and originality, the society conducts canvas painting sessions, outings & weekly Art sessions and acknowlede dedication through the “Member of the Month” title.
Over the years, it has proudly won several inter- and intra-college competitions, including those Hosted by SRCC, ARSD College, SBSC (M), Deshbandhu College, Jesus & Mary College, and many more.
