About the Society

Established in 2010, The Economics Society, SBSEC works to promote discourse and deeper understanding of economic thought, policy issues, and research perspectives beyond classroom learning. The society regularly conducts discussions, competitions, guest lectures, and academic events to build analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and intellectual curiosity among students.

Major Events & Initiatives

Ecobuzz (Annual Fest): A celebration of knowledge and creativity featuring debates, quizzes, interactive games, and intellectual competitions. The event attracts participation from across Delhi University.

National Young Economists Conclave (NYEC): The flagship national-level platform for undergraduate students to present research papers and analytical perspectives on contemporary economic issues.

The society also organizes keynote lectures and speaker sessions featuring academicians, researchers, policy experts, and institutional representatives to broaden economic understanding and academic exposure.

Structure of the Society

Membership is offered through a fair and inclusive selection process based on interview-led assessments of interest, commitment, and aptitude.

Core Positions:
President, Vice President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer, Department Heads, Core Members & Members.

Members gain hands-on experience in planning events, managing academic activities, and engaging with the wider intellectual community.
